At the start of this project, we were given options to create an original lamp or create a toy, but they both had to have some sort of interactive element, whether it be lighting up the lamp or having moving parts for the toy.
I have always been a Disney kid and found the opportunity to recreate one of my favorite characters: Wall-E. I started out with the 3D modeling by referencing the original toy, printing the parts out, assembling them, cutting and gluing wood together to create the body, and then spray painting it all to bring it together.
At the end of the 10 weeks, I learned how different materials work together, the importance of trying to replicate a very recognizable object or item, and what 3D modeling moving parts need in order to work properly when printed.
