Description
There are governmental applications that are widely used across the nation and even the world, but they have not been updated or changed over the years it was released. FEMA assists those affected by disasters, and with the new FEMA app redesign, the content is broken into new, accessible categories, new features are implemented that showcase the innovation of technology over the years, and the interface offers a more approachable experience.
Process
As I started this project, I conducted research on the current FEMA app and broke it down into its current individual sections in order to understand what type of categories or information I will be implementing in the redesign.
After looking at the different categories, I started to create different app redesign , created a mood board to go along with the chosen concept, and then created a brand identity that still had current FEMA qualities, but still revamped the aesthetic into a more simplistic and modern feeling.
In the end, I created a prototyped application all through Figma in 2 weeks and learned a lot about the importance of creating UI guidelines and following the design process in order to work more efficiently in a shorter period of time to get the best outcome.
